Dr.
Kari Miller is an educational therapist and founder
of Miller Educational Excellence, an educational therapy
center in Los Angeles. She
began her career almost twenty-five years ago as a special
education resource teacher. She has worked with students
in a vast array of capacities, including special education
teacher, educational therapist, student teacher supervisor,
test developer, writer and speaker. She has mentored new
teachers as a field (in-classroom) supervisor, has taught
college courses, and is qualified to administer and interpret
educational and psychological tests.
Dr. Miller has a PhD in Educational Psychology and Mathematical
Statistics, a master’s degree in Learning Disabilities,
Reading Remediation, Gifted Education and Educational Diagnosis,
and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
and Behavior Disorders.
She hosts two blogtalk radio shows, Special Kid School Talk
on BlogtalkRadio.com and Education Revolution on WebTalkRadio.com,
and is a subject-matter expert for Examiner.com, Parenting
Special Needs Magazine, SpecialEducationAdvisor.com, and
Bizymoms.com.
Dr. Miller believes that students are powerful learners
and the key to their academic and life success is helping
them believe in their ability to succeed. Empowered students
understand the degree of control they have in their educational
experience. They see themselves as the most important factor
in their own success. They know they are destined to achieve
their dreams.
She likes to visit the beach, work cryptic crosswords, and
lift weights! She has been married for 27 years to the love
of her life, Joel Miller. She has a wonderful daughter,
Sherri, and two grandchildren, Rachel and Shawn.
